Coca-Cola İçecek completes acquisition in Bangladesh

Coca-Cola İçecek has acquired all the shares of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages Limited (CCBB). The Turkish flag now waves high from Çorlu, Turkey to the Chinese border, covering a total population of 600 million.

Coca-Cola İçecek has acquired all the shares of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages Limited (CCBB). The Turkish flag now waves high from Çorlu, Turkey to the Chinese border, covering a total population of 600 million.

As announced to the public on February 15th, 2024, Coca-Cola İçecek together with its wholly owned subsidiary CCI International Holland B.V. (“CCIHBV”) - and a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company (“TCCC”) - had signed a share purchase agreement (“SPA”) for the acquisition of 100% shares in CCBB. The transaction is completed as of February 20th, 2024, following the registration of the share transfer by the relevant authorities. Upon completion, CCI now, directly, and indirectly, owns a 100% stake in CCBB.

Tuncay Özilhan said “We proudly wave our flag throughout a geography that extends from Çorlu to China.”

Anadolu Group and Coca-Cola İçecek Chairman Mr. Tuncay Özilhan, said that with the acquisition of Bangladesh, CCI now proudly flies the Turkish flag in 34 production facilities in a geography extending from Çorlu, Turkey to China. Mr. Özilhan further stated: “We believe in our ability to create significant growth in Bangladesh by deploying CCI's capabilities and to add value to our shareholders. By acquiring CCBB, we have expanded and diversified the geographical footprint of Coca-Cola İçecek."

Karim Yahi said “With the acquisition of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages, CCI will now reach a population of 600 million.”

CCI CEO Karim Yahi stated that "CCI will be able to reach 600 million people after the acquisition of Bangladesh, the 8th most populous country in the world." Mr. Yahi added: "I believe that Bangladesh will further strengthen CCI in international markets with its large young population, economic dynamism and growth prospect. According to the IMF, the economy of Bangladesh is expected to grow at more than 6% per year in the foreseeable future. With more than 300 employees, 1 bottling plant, and 3 warehouses, CCBB serves approximately 300 thousand points of sale and partners with close to 500 distributors. As CCI, we look forward to contributing to the bright future of Bangladesh."
