Coca-Cola İçecek Expands Footprint in Azerbaijan with New Plant Inaugurated by President Ilham Aliyev

Operating in 12 countries with 34 bottling and 3 fruit processing plants, Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) has commenced its second plant in Azerbaijan, located in Ismayilli. With the addition of the Ismayilli plant, CCI’s total investment in Azerbaijan has reached 200 million USD.
May 27, 2025, Ismayilli – Coca-Cola İçecek A.Ş. (CCI), a subsidiary of Turkish conglomerate Anadolu Group, has now inaugurated its second plant in Azerbaijan, located in Ismayilli, as part of its long-term growth and sustainable development vision in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Operating in 12 countries with 34 bottling and 3 fruit processing plants, CCI inaugurated its new plant in Ismayilli with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, and Mayor of Ismayilli Nahid Bağırov along with Anadolu Group Honorary Chairman Tuncay Özilhan, Anadolu Group and Coca-Cola İçecek Chairman Kamil Süleyman Yazıcı, Anadolu Group CEO Burak Başarır, CCI CEO Karim Yahi, CCI Azerbaijan General Manager Rena Mamedova and local government representatives.
Özilhan: “Our investments are the most meaningful reflection of our fraternal ties”
Expressing his personal pride and happiness over the remarkable progress Azerbaijan has made in the last 30 years, Anadolu Group Honorary Chairman Tuncay Özilhan said “The bond of brotherhood between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is not only a historical legacy for us, but also a strong partnership for the future. We see creating lasting value in this land as the most meaningful reflection of our enduring collaboration and fraternal relationship”.
Yazıcı: “Our investment in Azerbaijan has reached 200 million dollars”
Highlighting Anadolu Group’s approach to investments as focusing not solely through an economic lens but also an opportunity to focus on community development and people centered value creation, Anadolu Group and Coca-Cola İçecek Chairman Kamil Süleyman Yazıcı said: “Our role in Azerbaijan goes beyond beverage production and sales. Since our first plant investment in Baku, we have made an investment of 200 million dollars, creating direct employment for over 400 people and indirect job opportunities for thousands. Our new plant in Ismayilli is the most recent and concrete testament to our approach in supporting sustainable development and local prosperity”.
Mamedova: “With the Ismayilli plant, we are increasing our production capacity in Azerbaijan by 50%”
Emphasizing the principle of investing ahead of demand and CCI’s long-term growth strategy in Azerbaijan, CCI Azerbaijan General Manager Rena Mamedova expressed her delight with the inauguration of the Ismayilli plant, which broke ground a year ago. “With two new production lines, this plant will increase our production capacity in Azerbaijan by 50%” Mamedova said.
She added “In line with our contributions through taxes and other mandatory payments, we are among the top 30 taxpayers in Azerbaijan. With the launch of our Ismayilli plant, we are creating 100 additional jobs, all of which will be filled by local talents. Additionally, by sourcing 76% of our supplies and services locally, we provide indirect employment opportunities for approximately 6,000 people, thereby contributing to the strength of the regional economy.”
Renewable energy investment at the Ismayilli plant
CCI Azerbaijan continues to implement various sustainability initiatives at its Ismayilli plant, ranging from renewable energy investments and waste management to water stewardship and tree planting efforts. Additionally, CCI will continue its community-focused projects in Azerbaijan, such as the scholarship initiative for women engineers.
