Coca-Cola İçecek increased its EBITDA by 34% in the first half of the year compared to the same period of the previous year, while net sales were recorded as 5 billion TL with an increase of 22%. Sales volume increased by 11% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 670 million unit cases. Coca-Cola İçecek CEO Burak Başarır said, "We are pleased to continue our strong performance by recording volume growth in all our regions during the first half of the year." He said that they will continue to create value for their shareholders by focusing on quality growth in the upcoming period.
CCI, whose main shareholder is Anadolu Group, which operates in 10 countries including Turkey, Middle East, Central Asia and Pakistan with 26 factories and nearly 9 thousand employees, has announced its financial results for the first half of 2018. CCI's EBITDA has increased by 34% in the first half of the year compared to the same period of the previous year,while net sales revenue increased by 22% to 5 billion TL. CCI's sales volume increased by 11% and reached 670 million units.
Coca-Cola İçecek CEO Burak Başarır made a statement on the results of the first semester of 2018. He stated; “While we have maintained our quality growth for the past 4 quarters, net sales revenue has increased more than our volume and EBITDA value has increased more than the net sales revenue. Thanks to our income growth management initiatives, we continued to increase the share of small packages, the net sales revenue per unit case, and the gain in the market share in turnover.”
Strong performance continues in regions
All regions of Coca Cola İçecek had significant contribution in CCI’s strong growth in the first half of the year. CCI achieved the highest growth in sparkling beverages since 2011 in Turkey, Pakistan Faisalabad Plant started its production in April and with the improvements in field and distribution channel in Central Asia and Iraq with successful commercial promotions; CCI has performed strongly in all the regions where it operates.
Expectations for the second half of 2018
Burak Başarır said that after the strong performance in the first half, the expectations about the whole year were protected. "The strong contribution from our international operations has balanced the effects of fluctuations in the currencies. However, we continue to focus on various risk protection mechanisms, such as hedging, to reduce the potential negative effects of exchange rate fluctuations. In the upcoming period, we will continue to focus on effective cost management and improve our field practices further to maintain our quality growth.” he stated.
