The CDP Recognizes CCI as One of the Top Five Carbon Disclosure Leaders in Turkey
In Summer 2011, CCI became the first company in the food and beverage industry to participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in Turkey. The CDP was launched in Turkey in 2010 with its local partner, Sabanci University. The first CDP report on Turkey was published in November 2011, following the survey carried out by the report’s sponsor, Ernst & Young, covering Istanbul Stock Exchange 100 (ISE-100) index companies. The report employs a methodology developed by Ernst & Young where survey responses from each participating company related to its greenhouse gas emissions, water management and climate change strategy are used to compute its overall disclosure score.
The CDP 2011 Turkey-100 Report features CCI as one of the top five carbon disclosure leaders in Turkey, together with major banking, telecom and energy companies, for having obtained a disclosure score of over 70. The CDP’s recognition came as another solid testimony on CCI’s commitment to sustainability, transparency and accountability. It also marked a unique success for CCI for being the only company from the food and beverage industry and the only manufacturer company in the recognition list.
The CDP was launched in 2000 in London as a non-profit organization that aims to accelerate solutions to climate change and water management by putting relevant information at the heart of business, policy and investment decisions. CCI is one of over 3,000 organizations from around 60 countries that measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions, water management and climate change strategies through the CDP within a methodology that allows for setting reduction targets and implementing performance improvements.
