CCI inventors work, the environment wins

Coca-Cola İçecek, being the first company in Turkey to have reported its non-financial performance and corporate social responsibility activities as per international standards, through the “Inventor Competition” aims to spread innovation culture and increase environmental awareness among its employees as well as acknowledging and rewarding innovative employees.

For CCI the establishment of an innovative and environment-friendly business model and encouragement of employees in this direction is an essential requisite to ensure the sustainability of the company itself, the environment and the society. The Inventor Competition organized by CCI Turkey to encourage the creative potential of employees at every level has contributed significantly to our environmental performance. Subsequent to the successful results we achieved with the practice we launched in our Turkey supply chain in 2009, the CCI Inventor Competition was expanded to include the entire Turkey operation in 2010. In 2009, there were 211 project applications for the competition and 187 in 2010. As a result of the achievements in the CCI Inventor Competition and the projects that were implemented, total energy savings of 1,632,000 kWh of electricity, an amount equivalent to the annual average consumption of 590 4-person households and water savings of 84,000 tons, an amount equivalent to the average annual consumption of 1,000 4-person households, were realized.
